093_SR0068 LRB093 11154 HSS 12026 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of 3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Richard P. 4 Doubek of Palatine on Monday, January 27, 2003; and 5 WHEREAS, Mr. Doubek was a member of the Mt. Prospect Fire 6 Department, serving as the public information officer; he 7 began his work with the Mt. Prospect Fire Department in 1986 8 as a paid-on-call firefighter, eventually holding the rank of 9 lieutenant; in 1995, he began working for the Fire Prevention 10 Bureau and became the department's spokesman for fire safety 11 and prevention; and 12 WHEREAS, As part of his fire safety and prevention 13 duties, Mr. Doubek worked actively with school children; he 14 was also responsible for coordinating the annual fire safety 15 show at Randhurst Mall; like the police department's Officer 16 Friendly, Mr. Doubek played a similar role that could be 17 called Firefighter Friendly; and 18 WHEREAS, The community's appreciation of Mr. Doubek was 19 evident when the Mt. Prospect High School football team 20 presented him with the game winning football from their State 21 championship game in November of 2002; and 22 WHEREAS, The passing of Mr. Doubek has been deeply felt 23 by many, especially his wife, Kim Nagel Doubek; his mother, 24 Rita Doubek; his siblings, Donna (John) Jakobsze, Terry 25 (Robin) Doubek, Nancy Doubek, and Kenneth (Jeanine) Doubek; 26 his nieces and nephews, Matthew, Jessica, Katrina, Michael, 27 Zachary, Drew, Kaitlyn, and Richard; and a host of colleagues 28 and friends; he was preceded in death by his father, Richard 29 J. Doubek; therefore, be it 30 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL 31 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that together with his -2- LRB093 11154 HSS 12026 r 1 family, friends, co-workers, and his community, we mourn the 2 passing of Richard P. Doubek and extend to them our deepest 3 sympathy; and be it further 4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 5 presented to the family of Richard P.
