093_SR0166 LRB093 11982 RAH 16529 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of 3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Deacon Brian 4 David Campbell on April 29, 2003; and 5 WHEREAS, Brian David Campbell was the loving husband of 6 Cheryl Ann, who also passed away on April 29, 2003; and 7 WHEREAS, Brian David Campbell was born on December 21, 8 1954 in New York City, New York; he came to Illinois as an 9 infant and spent the greater part of his life in East St. 10 Louis; and 11 WHEREAS, Deacon Campbell attended school in East St. 12 Louis School District #189 and graduated from East St. Louis 13 High School in 1972; he received a bachelor of fine arts 14 degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and 15 a Masters Degree in Human Services from Webster University, 16 St. Louis, Missouri; and 17 WHEREAS, Deacon Campbell was employed by the State of 18 Illinois for a number of years with his last assignment 19 dealing with child support enforcement; and 20 WHEREAS, Deacon Campbell was an active member of St. Paul 21 Baptist Church for many years; at the time of his passing, he 22 was serving as Senior Deacon, and had previously served as 23 Superintendent and teacher of the Sunday School, as well as 24 in many other capacities in the church; and 25 WHEREAS, Deacon Campbell was an avid jazz fan and played 26 the drums with several groups at various venues in the 27 Bi-State area; and 28 WHEREAS, The passing of Deacon Brian David Campbell has 29 been deeply felt by all who knew him, especially his 30 grandmother, Mary Ferguson; his aunts, M. Manika Hyatt and -2- LRB093 11982 RAH 16529 r 1 Dr. Katie (Marvin) Wright; his cousins, John (Sandrarea) 2 Hyatt, Everal Maria Oldham, Virginia Jordan, and Kimberly 3 Millin; he is also survived by the Adams family and was a 4 dear friend of Alvin Parks, Jr.; therefore, be it 5 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL 6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing 7 of Deacon Brian David Campbell and express our sincere and 8 deepest sympathy to his family and friends; and be it further 9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 10 presented to the family of Deacon Brian David Campbell as an 11 expression of our condolences during their time of 12 bereavement.
