093_SR0209 LRB093 12231 HSS 17413 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of 3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Dominik 4 Antwan Childress on Sunday, December 1, 2002; and 5 WHEREAS, Mr. Childress was born on July 14, 1963 to 6 Charles and Marilyn Childress at Scott Air Force Base; he 7 attended East St. Louis Public Schools; he received a degree 8 in computer science from Southern Illinois University at 9 Edwardsville; and 10 WHEREAS, Mr. Childress was active at Abundant Life 11 Fellowship Church where he met his wife; he and Sharon were 12 married on April 13, 1996; he was ordained Deacon Dominik 13 Childress on June 26, 1994; he especially enjoyed serving on 14 the Usher Board; and 15 WHEREAS, Mr. Childress worked for Union Electric where he 16 held many positions; he enjoyed meeting and greeting people, 17 which his job allowed him to do; table tennis was a favorite 18 activity for Mr. Childress, and he participated in many 19 matches throughout the United States; he was named athlete of 20 the year in the State of Missouri at the University of 21 Missouri in Columbia; he was also a championship chess player 22 and a published poet; and 23 WHEREAS, The passing of Dominik Antwan Childress has been 24 deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his 25 wife, Sharon; his mother, Marilyn (George) Wade; his father, 26 Charles (Cheryl) Childress; his sisters, Michelle Childress 27 and Neko (Ctazi) Tetheo; his brothers, Carlos Childress and 28 David (Tohana) Childress; his grandmothers, Clara Stith and 29 Marell Mitchell; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and 30 other relatives and friends; therefore, be it 31 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL -2- LRB093 12231 HSS 17413 r 1 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing 2 of Dominik Antwan Childress and extend to his friends and 3 family our deepest sympathy; and be it further 4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 5 presented to the family of Dominik Antwan Childress as an 6 expression of our sincere condolences.
