093_SR0228 LRB093 12960 KEF 18170 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of 3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Robert D. 4 Talbot of Walnut on July 25, 2003; and 5 WHEREAS, Mr. Talbot was born on May 4, 1923, in DePue, 6 the son of John and Clara Harrison Talbot; he wed Frances 7 Conley on August 31, 1946, in LaSalle; and 8 WHEREAS, Mr. Talbot served with the United States Army in 9 the South Pacific with the 1138th Corp of Engineers during 10 World War II; he farmed near Walnut for 53 years; and 11 WHEREAS, Mr. Talbot was a member of St. John's Catholic 12 Church, the Walnut American Legion Post 179, the Walnut 13 Chamber of Commerce, the Bureau County Cattleman's 14 Association, and the University of Illinois Extension-Bureau 15 County agriculture committee; he was a charter member of 16 Walnut-Chio Knights of Columbus and the livestock feeders; he 17 served as a volunteer 4-H leader for over 36 years and was 18 awarded the H.C. McCutchan Agricultural Service Award in 19 2002; and 20 WHEREAS, Robert Talbot's passing will be deeply felt by 21 many especially his wife, Frances; his three daughters, 22 Kathleen (David) Paulek, Helen (Jay) Hodge, and Rosemary 23 (Lynn) Fisher; his seven grandchildren; his 24 great-grandaughter; his brother, Benjamin Talbot; and 25 numerous nieces and nephews; and 26 WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his two 27 sisters; and three brothers; therefore, be it 28 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL 29 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing 30 of Robert D.
