093_SR0248 LRB093 13050 KEF 18295 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of 3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Kristen M. 4 Gough of Naperville on July 25, 2003; and 5 WHEREAS, Ms. Gough grew up in Naperville and attended 6 Prairie Elementary School and Washington Junior High School; 7 she was a 2000 graduate of Naperville North High School where 8 she was an honor roll student, worked in a special education 9 program helping disabled students, and was a member of the 10 International Thespian Society; and 11 WHEREAS, Ms. Gough was accepted into the Gerald Ford 12 Program at Albion College in Albion, Michigan, and later 13 transferred to DePaul University in Chicago, where she 14 received the Dean's Award for Scholastic Excellence; as a 15 senior, she was majoring in foreign languages with an 16 emphasis on Japanese and Asian art history; through DePaul, 17 she studied abroad for eight months at a university in Osaka, 18 Japan; and 19 WHEREAS, Ms. Gough was also an active member of St. 20 Margaret Mary Church in Naperville and was employed as a 21 waitress part time with Colonial Restaurant in Naperville; 22 her interests included art, watercolor painting, and foreign 23 languages; she loved children and enjoyed animals; she 24 aspired to teach children and was excited to be starting a 25 new job in August teaching kids Japanese; and 26 WHEREAS, Kristen Gough's passing will be deeply felt by 27 many, especially her parents, Michael R. and Kathleen S. 28 (Gorecki) Gough; her sister, Kasey Gough; her brother, Dan 29 Gough; her maternal grandmother, Angie Gorecki; her aunts and 30 uncles, James Gough, Mary Ellen (husband Jim) Mischel, Greg 31 Gorecki , Jim Gorecki, and Cheryl Gorecki; her three cousins, 32 Jennifer, Steven, and Michelle Gorecki; and her fiance, Paul -2- LRB093 13050 KEF 18295 r 1 A. Simms; and 2 WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her paternal 3 grandparents, John and Dorothea Gough; her maternal 4 grandfather, Bruno Gorecki; and an uncle, Robert Gorecki; 5 therefore, be it 6 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL 7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing 8 of Kristen M. Gough along with all who knew and loved her and 9 extend our sincere condolences to her family and friends; and 10 be it further 11 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 12 presented to the family of Kristen M. Gough as an expression 13 of our deepest sympathy.
