| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| were saddened to learn of the death of Delia B. Lightford of |
4 |
| Chicago on November 26, 2003; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Lightford was born in Huntsville, Alabama to |
6 |
| Mr. and Mrs. Elias Fitcheard; she was one of six children; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, She was united in Holy Matrimony on May 12, 1943 |
8 |
| to Ennis Thomas Lightford while he was serving in the United |
9 |
| States Army during World War II; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Lightford moved to Chicago in the early 1940s |
11 |
| and was employed by G.T.E. until she retired; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, Her passing will be deeply felt by many, |
13 |
| especially her husband, Mr. Ennis T. Lightford; her sons, Lee |
14 |
| R. Lightford (Marian) and Virgil Blevins (Kathleen); her |
15 |
| granddaughter, Michelle Lightford (Kenny); her grandson, |
16 |
| Nathan Blevins (April); her great-granddaughter, Reeta; her |
17 |
| great-grandsons, Joseph and Nathan, Jr.; a host of nieces and |
18 |
| nephews, including her great neice Senator Kimberly Lightford, |
19 |
| as well as many other great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and |
20 |
| friends; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
22 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of |
23 |
| Delia B. Lightford along with all who knew and loved her and |
24 |
| extend our sincere condolences to her family and friends; and |
25 |
| be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
27 |
| presented to the family of Delia B. Lightford as an expression |
28 |
| of our deepest sympathy.
