| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Robert Williams, Sr. on |
| 4 |
| Saturday, December 6, 2003; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Williams, Sr. was born to the late Leroy |
| 6 |
| and Gertrude Williams on February 8, 1940 in Schlater, |
| 7 |
| Mississippi; he spent his younger years in Grenada and |
| 8 |
| Greenwood, Mississippi; his family moved to Chicago in 1955; |
| 9 |
| and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Williams met Peggy Lowe in 1964; they were |
| 11 |
| married on February 25, 1965; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Williams was a machinist, working at Bunte |
| 13 |
| Brothers, Melville Confectionary, Crane Steel, Stanadyne |
| 14 |
| Incorporated, and Elkay; he retired in February of 2002; he was |
| 15 |
| a member of United Baptist Church; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Mr. Williams has been deeply felt |
| 17 |
| by many, especially his wife, Peggy; his children, Robert, Jr. |
| 18 |
| and Charmaine; his grandchildren, Brandon, Robert III, Meshia, |
| 19 |
| and Christopher; his sisters, Lena Stewart, Alma (Sam) Stewart, |
| 20 |
| Emma Terrell, Julia Williams, and Verlee Johnson; his brothers, |
| 21 |
| Freddie Williams and Frankie (Felicia) Williams; his |
| 22 |
| father-in-law, George Lowe, Sr.; his mother-in-law, Myjean |
| 23 |
| Lowe; his brothers-in-law, George (Linda) Lowe, Jr. and Dwight |
| 24 |
| (Jacque) Lowe; and many other family members and friends; |
| 25 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of |
| 28 |
| Robert Williams, Sr., and we extend our sincerest condolences |
| 29 |
| to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be |
