| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of William L. "Bill" Little of |
| 4 |
| Alton on Saturday, November 15, 2003; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Little was born on July 10, 1937 in Hannibal, |
| 6 |
| Missouri to William Leon and Marvel (Masterson) Little; he |
| 7 |
| married the former Patricia Margaret Conley on August 16, 1958 |
| 8 |
| at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton where the |
| 9 |
| family has attended for many years; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Little graduated from Alton Senior High School |
| 11 |
| in 1956 and later attended Shurtleff College; he was employed |
| 12 |
| for 35 years at the former McDonnell Douglas Aircraft |
| 13 |
| Corporation and retired in 1997 as a Flight Line Inspector; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Little was very involved in politics and was a |
| 15 |
| Madison County Board Member for 30 years, a Madison County |
| 16 |
| Finance Chairman for 25 years, a member of the Madison County |
| 17 |
| Transit Board, Madison County Community Mental Health 70B |
| 18 |
| Board, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace |
| 19 |
| Workers for 30 years, a board member of the Alton Museum of |
| 20 |
| History and Art, past president of Illinois Association of |
| 21 |
| County Officials from 1994 to 1995, past president of Illinois |
| 22 |
| Association of County Board Members and Commissioners from 1988 |
| 23 |
| to 1989, an Alton Township Democratic Committeeman, a member of |
| 24 |
| Illinois Association of County Officials, past president of |
| 25 |
| Illinois Association of County Board Members, past president of |
| 26 |
| Godfrey Lions Club, and a Fourth Degree Member of Knights of |
| 27 |
| Columbus Pere Marquette Assembly No. 0203; and
|
| 28 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Little will be remembered for his love of his |
| 29 |
| family, church, community, and of the county where he lived, |
| 30 |
| worked, and served; he was an avid golfer and enjoyed |
| 31 |
| traveling; and
