| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State Illinois |
3 |
| were saddened to learn of the death of James Ardis Jr. of |
4 |
| Peoria on December 18, 2003; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Ardis was born on January 17, 1934, in Peoria |
6 |
| to James E. Sr. and Helen Sample Ardis; he married Suzanne |
7 |
| Bulger on October 13, 1956, in Peoria; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, He and his father formerly owned Ardis and Son |
9 |
| Cleaners; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, He served as a sergeant in the Marine Corps from |
11 |
| 1953 to 1956; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, An electrician at CILCO, he retired in 1996; he |
13 |
| was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electric |
14 |
| Workers Local 34; in addition, he held the position of Peoria |
15 |
| City Councilman from 1969 to 1973 which inspired his namesake, |
16 |
| Jim Ardis III, to become involved in politics himself; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Ardis was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic |
18 |
| Church; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by many, |
20 |
| especially his wife, Suzanne; his mother; his four sons, Jim |
21 |
| III (and Mimi), Tony (and Darla), Steve (and Jaime), and John |
22 |
| (and Angie); his four daughters, Ann (and Jim) Centers, Cindy |
23 |
| (and Michael) Jenkins, Mary Kedzior, and Chris Ardis; and his |
24 |
| 21 grandchildren; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of |
27 |
| James Ardis Jr. along with all who knew and loved him and |
28 |
| extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and |
