| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Eloise "Ellie" Onan of |
| 4 |
| Waukegan on Friday, January 30, 2004; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Eloise "Ellie" Onan was born on February 4, 1936, |
| 6 |
| and grew up in New Lisbon, Wisconsin; she lived in Cuba and |
| 7 |
| Hawaii with her sister and brother-in-law in the Navy; they |
| 8 |
| moved to Great Lakes Naval Base, where she worked for the USO; |
| 9 |
| and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, She married John Onan in 1959, and they raised |
| 11 |
| their family in Waukegan; she worked as a dedicated employee at |
| 12 |
| the Lake County Clerk's Office, Election Department for 20 |
| 13 |
| years; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Onan loved writing poems, reading, shopping, |
| 15 |
| the color red, Christmas, and Marco Island; she always made |
| 16 |
| family time her first priority; she was an extraordinary friend |
| 17 |
| to all who crossed her path; she is remembered for her smile |
| 18 |
| and her kindness; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Eloise "Ellie" Onan has been deeply |
| 20 |
| felt by many, especially her husband, John; her children, Cindy |
| 21 |
| (Tom) Cramer and Bob (Jayne) Onan; her cherished grandchildren, |
| 22 |
| Madeline, Emily, and Miah Cramer, and MacKenzie and Calahan |
| 23 |
| Onan; her sister, Helen (Jim) Atkins; and her many relatives |
| 24 |
| and friends; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
| 26 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 27 |
| Eloise "Ellie" Onan, and we extend our deepest sympathy to her |
| 28 |
| friends, family, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
