| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| were saddened to learn of the death of Jack Burgess Sr. of |
4 |
| Caseyville, formerly of East St. Louis, on February 23, 2004; |
5 |
| and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Jack Burgess Sr. was born in Collinsville on May |
7 |
| 26, 1941, to Donald V. and Ruth I. (nee Campbell) Burgess; and |
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Burgess retired after 29 years as a patrolman |
9 |
| for the East St. Louis Police Department; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of the Hercules Lodge 90 |
11 |
| I.B.P.O.E. of W. of East St. Louis; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Jack Burgess Sr. will be deeply |
13 |
| felt by many, especially his wife, Mary (nee Moore) Burgess; |
14 |
| his two sons, Jack L. Burgess Jr. and Jimmy D. (Katrina) |
15 |
| Burgess; his daughter, Cynthia A. Dedmon; his four |
16 |
| grandchildren, Stacey Burgess, Crystal Burgess, Dean Burgess, |
17 |
| and Amanda Dedmon; his four sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet |
18 |
| (James "Butch") Biggs, Shirley (Ron) Gallatin, Joyce (Mike) |
19 |
| Hollowell, and Sherry Stark; and his special friend, Robert |
20 |
| Thompson; and
|
21 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and his |
22 |
| brother, Donald E. Burgess; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
24 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of |
25 |
| Jack Burgess Sr. along with all who knew and loved him and |
26 |
| extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and |
27 |
| be it further
