| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| were saddened to learn of the death of L. Earl Youtzy of Aurora |
4 |
| on March 2, 2004; and |
5 |
| WHEREAS, L. Earl Youtzy was born January 30, 1919 in Cedar |
6 |
| Rapids, Iowa the son of George A. and Stella (Quass) Youtzy; |
7 |
| and |
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Youtzy attended Iowa State University, |
9 |
| Cornell College, and DePaul University; he spent 20 years in |
10 |
| the dairy business with the Borden Company and Oatman Dairy of |
11 |
| Aurora; he had been in the life insurance business since 1958; |
12 |
| and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, He was past president of the Aurora Association of |
14 |
| Life Underwriters, past president of the Illinois West Suburban |
15 |
| CLU Chapter, a member of Fox Valley Estate Planning Council, |
16 |
| and a member of the United Way of Aurora; he had also served |
17 |
| the Salvation Army, Association for Individual Development, |
18 |
| Aurora College, Wayside Cross Rescue Mission, Boy Scouts of |
19 |
| America, and the Girl Scouts of America; and |
20 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Youtzy received the Salvation Army "Others" |
21 |
| award in 1978 and the Aurora Lions Club "Citizen of the Year" |
22 |
| award in 1980; in 1984, he received from his peers, the Aurora |
23 |
| Association of Life Underwriters "Salesman of Distinction" |
24 |
| award; and |
25 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Youtzy served in the United States Army from |
26 |
| 1941 to 1946, where he attained the rank of Major; he was |
27 |
| wounded in 1945 and was awarded the Purple Heart, as well as |
28 |
| the Silver Star; and |
29 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of American Legion Post 84 and was |
