| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| were saddened to learn of the death of Michael Lehnen of |
4 |
| Bethalto on March 21, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Michael Lehnen was born the son of Jesse C. and |
6 |
| Eulalia M. (Holmes) Lehnen, on January 27, 1947, in Alton; he |
7 |
| and the former Marie A. Zakrzewski were married on September |
8 |
| 27, 1969, in Bethalto; and |
9 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Lehnen served as the assistant fire chief in |
10 |
| Bethalto for 29 years and he was a member of the Madison County |
11 |
| Fireman's Association; and |
12 |
| WHEREAS, He was admired and respected by the members of the |
13 |
| Bethalto fire department; he was known for "never leaving the |
14 |
| firehouse until all his men returned"; and |
15 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Michael Lehnen will be deeply felt |
16 |
| by many, especially his wife, Marie; his daughter, Constance M. |
17 |
| Carrillo; his son and daughter-in-law, Matthew M. and Kimberly |
18 |
| Lehnen; his three grandchildren, Mary and Zach Lehnen and |
19 |
| Brittany Carrillo; his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth |
20 |
| and Bob Nappier and Debbie and Jay England; and his two |
21 |
| brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas Leo and Trudy Lehnen and |
22 |
| Paul Joseph and Jan Lehnen; and |
23 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and a |
24 |
| sister, Constance; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of |
27 |
| Michael Lehnen along with all who knew and loved him and extend |
28 |
| our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and be it |
