| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of John Patton of Waukegan on |
| 4 |
| Friday, March 26, 2004; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Patton valiantly served his country in the |
| 6 |
| United States Army during World War II; on November 25, 1950, |
| 7 |
| he married Rebecca Kahooluhi; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Patton owned and operated Patton Screw |
| 9 |
| Products in Waukegan for 34 years until his retirement in 1999; |
| 10 |
| and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Patton was an avid bowler, having participated |
| 12 |
| in numerous leagues in Waukegan and North Chicago, and he |
| 13 |
| bowled in numerous national tournaments; he also enjoyed golf |
| 14 |
| and belonged to golf leagues at Foss Park in North Chicago; he |
| 15 |
| was also known for his love for animals; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of John Patton has been deeply felt by |
| 17 |
| many, especially his wife, Rebecca; his sister, Thelma (George) |
| 18 |
| O'Flaherty; his nieces and nephews, Kelley O'Flaherty Fisher, |
| 19 |
| Patrick O'Flaherty, Janet (Ron) Clift, Al (Sara) Hancock, and |
| 20 |
| Courtney, Mary Lou O'Flaherty, and Jaquie (Dom) Sacramento; his |
| 21 |
| many great-nieces and great-nephews; and his godchildren, |
| 22 |
| James A. Lutter, Margaret Zirkelbach, and James Pierce; |
| 23 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
| 25 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 26 |
| John Patton, and we extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 27 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 28 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
