| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| were saddened to learn of the death of Gerald Kalsbeek of |
4 |
| Mountain Home, Arkansas, on April 23, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Gerald Kalsbeek was born on December 20, 1912, in |
6 |
| Groningen, Netherlands to Anne Gerard and Geesje Oving |
7 |
| Kalsbeek; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, He married Harmina Vander Wal in Groningen on May |
9 |
| 10, 1937; he then immigrated to the United States of America in |
10 |
| 1951 after having owned a grocery business for 25 years; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Kalsbeek was a retired school custodian and a |
12 |
| member of Redeemer Lutheran Church; he moved to Mountain Home, |
13 |
| Arkansas, in 1977 from Glen Ellyn; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, Gerald Kalsbeek was a devoted husband and loving |
15 |
| father; his passing will be deeply felt by many, especially his |
16 |
| wife, Harmina Kalsbeek; his four children, Arthur (Karen) |
17 |
| Kalsbeek, Janneke (Robert) Smith, Dr. Edward Kalsbeek, and |
18 |
| Frederik (Barbara) Kalsbeek; his six grandchildren; his five |
19 |
| great-grandchildren; and his step great-grandson; and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and two |
21 |
| brothers and two sisters; therefore, be it |
22 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
23 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of |
24 |
| Gerald Kalsbeek along with all who knew and loved him and |
25 |
| extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and |
26 |
| be it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
