| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were saddened |
3 |
| to learn of the passing of Margaret Anne Sullivan on April 9, |
4 |
| 2004; and |
5 |
| WHEREAS, Margaret Sullivan, a former resident of Oak Park, |
6 |
| was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Jeremiah and Margaret |
7 |
| Boyle Sullivan on November 14, 1924; and |
8 |
| WHEREAS, Margaret Sullivan and her family moved to Ashland, |
9 |
| Wisconsin in 1937 where she attended DePadua High School; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Sullivan and her family moved to Oak Park, |
11 |
| where she graduated from Rosary College (now Dominican |
12 |
| University) in 1946 and began teaching in area elementary and |
13 |
| high schools; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Sullivan went on to became a writer and editor |
15 |
| of sales publications for Sears, Roebuck and Co.; in 1963, she |
16 |
| moved to Atlanta where she became Editor and Publication |
17 |
| Officer with the Southern Regional Education Board; and |
18 |
| WHEREAS, After retiring, she continued to stay active, |
19 |
| doing freelance editing of educational papers, and she was very |
20 |
| active in volunteer work at the Cathedral of Christ the King; |
21 |
| and
|
22 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Margaret Sullivan will be deeply |
23 |
| felt by many, especially her brother, William J. Sullivan; her |
24 |
| sister-in-law, Elenore; her niece, Anne Tonia Sullivan; her |
25 |
| nephew, William B. Sullivan and his wife, Cheryl; her |
26 |
| grandnieces, Cali and Megan Sullivan; her grandnephew, Patrick |
27 |
| Sullivan; and her dear friends, Irene McEnroe and Audrey |
28 |
| Spector; therefore, be it |
