| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Cylerstine Lucas on |
| 4 |
| Tuesday, May 4, 2004; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Cylerstine Rainey was born in Webb, Mississippi on |
| 6 |
| February 18, 1922, to William and Nora Rainey; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Miss Rainey was united in marriage to Willie T. |
| 8 |
| Lucas; he preceded her in death; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Lucas joined Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C. under the |
| 10 |
| pastorate of Elder Willie E. Rushing; she served her last days |
| 11 |
| as "Church Mother" under the leadership of Elder James Stevens; |
| 12 |
| she was lovingly called Mother, Ma, Stine, Aunt Doll, Baby, and |
| 13 |
| Fox; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Cylerstine Lucas has been deeply |
| 15 |
| felt by many, especially her brother, William Rainey; her |
| 16 |
| children, James, Charles, Charlene, Willette, Larry, Archie, |
| 17 |
| Vallery, Jewel, Sharon (Elliot), Lamont (Acquanitta), |
| 18 |
| Prentiss, and Renee; her grandchildren, Crystal, Robert, |
| 19 |
| Veronica, Antoinne, Kimberly, Antoinette, Larry Jr., Larrece, |
| 20 |
| Lamon, Anthony, Davin, Alexis, Kenna, Cassia, Kenneata, Archie |
| 21 |
| Jr., Charlette, Kenneth, DeAngelo, Jewell DeAngela, T.J., |
| 22 |
| Joron, Tamia, Acquanitta (Sky), Lamont, Preston, Mesha, |
| 23 |
| Prentiss Jr., Prudence, Shakita, Shomari, Chakita, Chaquita, |
| 24 |
| and Quentin; her stepson, Willie T. Lucas Jr.; her numerous |
| 25 |
| great-grandchildren; her many relatives and friends; and her |
| 26 |
| devoted caregiver, Bernice McClain; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 29 |
| Cylerstine Lucas, and we extend our sincerest condolences to |
| 30 |
| her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
