| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Robert L. Bass of Galesburg |
| 4 |
| on Friday, May 14, 2004; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Bass was born on December 12, 1924, in Little |
| 6 |
| York to Roy and Lula Miller Bass; he married Eva Nelson on |
| 7 |
| September 9, 1950, in Monmouth; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Bass valiantly served his country in the U.S. |
| 9 |
| Army from 1950 to 1952; he was a member of Ralph M. Noble |
| 10 |
| American Legion Post 285; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Bass was a mechanic for more than 30 years |
| 12 |
| before retiring in 1989; he was a member of Bethany Baptist |
| 13 |
| Church in Galesburg; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Robert L. Bass has been deeply felt |
| 15 |
| by many, especially his wife, Eva; his daughters, Sharon |
| 16 |
| Clevenger, Sandra (and Dean) Ryberg, and Susan (and Randy) |
| 17 |
| Pintar; his brothers, Paul (and Mary) and Richard (and Della); |
| 18 |
| his sister, Lois Bass; and his grandchild; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
| 20 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 21 |
| Robert L. Bass and extend our sincerest condolences to his |
| 22 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 23 |
| further
|
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 25 |
| presented to the family of Robert L. Bass as an expression of |
| 26 |
| our deepest sympathy.
