| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with great sadness of the death in Iraq of Jeremy |
4 |
| Ridlen of Decatur on Sunday, May 23, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Ridlen valiantly served his country as a |
6 |
| member of the Illinois National Guard 1544th Transportation |
7 |
| Company headquartered in Paris; he had been serving in Iraq |
8 |
| since February; his twin brother, Jason Ridlen served in the |
9 |
| same company; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Ridlen graduated from Maroa-Forsyth High |
11 |
| School in 1998; he was attending Illinois State University in |
12 |
| Normal before his unit was activated and deployed to Iraq; he |
13 |
| attended the Peoples Church of God in Decatur; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Jeremy Ridlen has been deeply felt |
15 |
| by many, especially his mother, Cheryl; his father, Ed Ridlen; |
16 |
| his brother, Jason; and his sister, Amanda Brady; therefore, be |
17 |
| it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
19 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
20 |
| Jeremy Ridlen, and we extend our deepest sympathies to his |
21 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
22 |
| further |
23 |
| RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Jeremy Ridlen and his |
24 |
| willingness to serve our country, which led to him making the |
25 |
| ultimate sacrifice; and be it further
|
26 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
27 |
| presented to the family of Jeremy Ridlen as an expression of |
28 |
| our sincere condolences during their time of bereavement.
