| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of George Caddell Bruce Jr. of |
4 |
| Princeton on Saturday, June 5, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Bruce was born on April 6, 1921, in Pontiac to |
6 |
| George Caddell Sr. and Jane Ellen (Ricker) Bruce; he married |
7 |
| Irma Kitterman on April 26, 1949, in Princeton; she preceded |
8 |
| him in death on April 30, 1994; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Bruce valiantly served his country during |
10 |
| World War II in the U.S. Army; he owned and operated Bruce |
11 |
| Jewelers since 1946; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Bruce was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran |
13 |
| Church in Princeton, American Legion Post 125, Princeton |
14 |
| Masonic Lodge A.F. and A.M. 587, Jewelers of America, Illinois |
15 |
| Jewelers Association, and local antique automobile clubs; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of George Caddell Bruce Jr. has been |
17 |
| deeply felt by many, especially his sons, Gary (Diane) Bruce |
18 |
| and Gail Bruce; and his grandchildren, Sarah Jane Bruce, Reid |
19 |
| Bruce, and Mark Bruce; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
21 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of |
22 |
| George Caddell Bruce Jr., and we extend our deepest sympathy to |
23 |
| his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
24 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
26 |
| presented to the family of George Caddell Bruce Jr. as an |
27 |
| expression of our sincere condolences.
