| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Idora E. Vallas on Tuesday, |
| 4 |
| August 17, 2004; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Vallas was born on January 24, 1922 in |
| 6 |
| Missouri Valley, Iowa to Robert and Wilhelmina McGarr Clark; |
| 7 |
| she married Gabriel Vallas on August 22, 1942 in Peoria; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, She was a former member of Eagles Aerie 265 |
| 9 |
| Auxiliary in Peoria and was a member of the Edwards United |
| 10 |
| Methodist Church in Edwards; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Idora E. Vallas has been deeply |
| 12 |
| felt by many, especially her husband, Gabriel Vallas; her sons, |
| 13 |
| Carl (and Paula) Vallianatos, Kenneth (and Janet) Vallas, and |
| 14 |
| Donald (and Janet) Vallianatos; her daughter, Donna Sue (and |
| 15 |
| Dennis) Hopwood; her 13 grandchildren; her 20 |
| 16 |
| great-grandchildren; her one great-great grandson; her |
| 17 |
| brother, Harry McGarr; and her sister, Dorothy LaFollett; her |
| 18 |
| son, George Vallianatos, preceded her in death; therefore, be |
| 19 |
| it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 22 |
| Idora E. Vallas, and we extend our deepest sympathy to her |
| 23 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
| 24 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 26 |
| presented to the family of Mrs. Vallas as an expression of our |
| 27 |
| sincere condolences.
