| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| were saddened to learn of the death of Cecilia Mary Couri |
4 |
| LaHood of Peoria on August 16, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Cecilia Mary Couri was born on April 15, 1910 in |
6 |
| Peoria to Edward and Anna Kouri Couri; she married Harry M. |
7 |
| LaHood on June 30, 1930 in St. Louis; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. LaHood graduated from Brown Business College |
9 |
| in 1926 and worked as a secretary for the Diocese of Peoria |
10 |
| Chancery office; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in |
12 |
| Peoria Heights; she was also a member of the Itoo Society, |
13 |
| where she was one of the first women to cook for the Itoo |
14 |
| Supper in 1928; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Cecilia Mary Couri LaHood will be |
16 |
| deeply felt by many, especially her three daughters, Kathryn |
17 |
| (and Carl) Williams, Mary Ann (and Thomas) Penn, and Joy (and |
18 |
| Michael) Tonsor; her three sons, Harry, Jr. (and Gloria), |
19 |
| Edward (and Emily), and Dick (and Patricia); her two brothers, |
20 |
| Anthony (and Maureen) Couri and Dr. Peter (and Isabelle) Couri; |
21 |
| her two sisters, Mary George and Martha Burke; her 46 |
22 |
| grandchildren; her 107 great-grandchildren; and her three |
23 |
| great-great-grandchildren; and
|
24 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; one |
25 |
| brother; three grandchildren; and one great-granchild; |

| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of |
