| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Thomas R. Yentes of West |
4 |
| Peoria on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Yentes was born on March 2, 1947 in Peoria to |
6 |
| Robert G. and Katherine L. White Yentes; he married Kathy J. |
7 |
| Simms on September 9, 1996 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Yentes valiantly served his country as a |
9 |
| member of the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War; he was a |
10 |
| member of the East Peoria Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2078, |
11 |
| the Peoria American Legion Post 2, and the Peoria AM-VETS Post |
12 |
| 64; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, He worked as a detective with the Peoria County |
14 |
| Sheriff's Department for more than 30 years and retired in |
15 |
| 2001; he was a member of the Peoria Elks Lodge 20, the |
16 |
| Chillicothe Sportsman Club, and Forrest Hill United Methodist |
17 |
| Church in Peoria; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Mr. Yentes has been deeply felt by |
19 |
| many, especially his wife, Kathy; his mother, Katherine; his |
20 |
| daughters, Christy (and Rob) Martin and Hope (and Brian) |
21 |
| Yentes-Enslow; his sister, Sharon (and Eugene) Knoblauch; his |
22 |
| brother, Robert (and Judi); and his five grandchildren; |
23 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
25 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
26 |
| Thomas R. Yentes, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his |
27 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
28 |
