| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
|
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Richard V. "Gus" Hopper of |
| 4 |
| Chatham on August 1, 2004; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Hopper was born on August 17, 1937 in |
| 6 |
| Gillespie to Vernie and Kathleen (McFarlan) Hopper; he married |
| 7 |
| Elizabeth Jill Lesko on October 18, 1958 in Gillespie; she |
| 8 |
| preceded
him in death on January 22, 1990; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Hopper worked for the Illinois Senate Majority |
| 10 |
| staff immediately preceding his death and was a former Macoupin |
| 11 |
| County precinct committeeman; and |
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Richard Hopper has been
deeply felt |
| 13 |
| by many, especially his
2 daughters, Marge (Jim) Brown and Lisa |
| 14 |
| (Vince) Cacciatori; his 3 grandchildren, Adam Brown, Claire |
| 15 |
| Cacciatori, and Emma Cacciatori; his brother, William Hopper; |
| 16 |
| and his 2 sisters, Dorothy Bone and Lois Keck; and |
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death |
| 18 |
| by his parents and his brother, James L. Hopper; therefore, be |
| 19 |
| it |

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
| 21 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of |
| 22 |
| Richard V. "Gus" Hopper and we extend our deepest sympathy to
|
| 23 |
| his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 24 |
| further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
|
| 26 |
| presented to the family of Richard V. "Gus" Hopper as an |
| 27 |
| expression of our sincere condolences.
