| SENATE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, we have learned with great sadness that Ms. Eloise |
| 3 |
| Smith passed away on August 16, 2004; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Smith was born in Chicago, Illinois on March |
| 5 |
| 19, 1928, the only child of Minnie and Charlie Shephard; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Eloise Smith graduated from Englewood High School |
| 7 |
| in 1945, and continued her education at South East City |
| 8 |
| College, majoring in Computer Science; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, for over thirty years Eloise Smith served the |
| 10 |
| community admirably in multiple administrative capacities with |
| 11 |
| the Chicago Housing Authority ; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Smith helped form an investment group, and |
| 13 |
| enjoyed a bountiful life traveling, dancing, and socializing |
| 14 |
| with friends; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, the death of Eloise Smith is a great loss to her |
| 16 |
| family and friends, including her daughter Diane, son Cedric, |
| 17 |
| Sr., grandson Cedric, Jr., great-grandson Joshua, |
| 18 |
| daughter-in-law Yvette, and innumerable other relatives and |
| 19 |
| friends; therefore, be it
|
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
| 21 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we express our deep |
| 22 |
| sorrow at the passing of Eloise Smith, and that we offer our |
| 23 |
| heartfelt sympathy to her family; and be it further
|
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 25 |
| presented to the family of Eloise Smith with our sincere |
| 26 |
| condolences.
