    Amends the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act.  Requires a parent who intends to marry a sex offender to notify the other parent with whom he or she has a minor child prior to that marriage.

    AN ACT concerning civil law.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of 
5
Marriage Act is amended  by adding Section 609.5 as follows:

    (750 ILCS 5/609.5  new)

    Sec. 609.5. Notification of remarriage; sex offender. A 
8
parent who intends to marry a sex offender shall notify the 
9
other parent with whom he or she has a minor child prior to 
10
that marriage.
