    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act is amended 
5
by changing
Section 1-104 as follows:

    (5 ILCS 420/1-104)  (from Ch. 127, par. 601-104)

    Sec. 1-104.   "Compensation" means any
any money, thing of

8
value, or economic
benefit conferred on, or received by, any 
9
person in return for services
rendered, or to be rendered, by 
10
himself or another.
