| AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2262

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2262 by replacing |

| everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| "Section 5. The General Assembly Operations Act is amended |
| 5 |
| by adding Section 5.5 as follows:
|

| (25 ILCS 10/5.5 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 5.5. Day care services. The Clerk of the House of |
| 8 |
| Representatives and the Secretary of the Senate shall jointly |
| 9 |
| contract for the provision of day care services in Springfield |
| 10 |
| at the State Capitol, the Stratton Office Building, or another |
| 11 |
| convenient location in proximity to those buildings during each |
| 12 |
| week either house of the General Assembly is in session, |
| 13 |
| including those evening and weekend hours when either house of |
| 14 |
| the General Assembly is in session. |
| 15 |
| The services shall be available for the children of General |
| 16 |
| Assembly members and the children of the following: (i) |
| 17 |
| partisan staff, professional staff, secretaries, and other |
| 18 |
| employees (other than district staff) of the House of |
| 19 |
| Representatives; (ii) partisan staff, secretaries, and other |
| 20 |
| employees (other than district staff) of the Senate; (iii) |
| 21 |
| professional staff and other employees of the Senate Operations |
| 22 |
| Commission; and (iv) executive directors and employees of those |
| 23 |
| legislative support services agencies designated by the Joint |
| 24 |
| Committee on Legislative Support Services for the purpose of |
