AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2414

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2414, AS AMENDED, by 
3
replacing all of subsection (c) of Sec. 24-1.7 of Section 5 
4
with the following:

    "(c) This Section does not apply to a person who possessed 
6
a weapon or attachment prohibited by subsection (b) before the 
7
effective date of this amendatory Act of the 94th General 
8
Assembly.  On or after the effective date of this amendatory Act 
9
of the 94th General Assembly, such person may transfer such 
10
weapon or attachment only to a dealer licensed as a federal 
11
firearms dealer under Section 923 of the federal Gun Control 
12
Act of 1968."; and

by replacing all of subsection (c) of Sec. 24-1.8 of Section 5 
14
with the following:

    "(c) This Section does not apply to a person who possessed 
16
a device prohibited by subsection (b) before the effective date 
17
of this amendatory Act of the 94th General Assembly.  On or 
18
after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 94th 
19
General Assembly, such person may transfer such device only to 
20
a dealer licensed as a federal firearms dealer under Section 
21
923 of the federal Gun Control Act of 1968."; and
 
22
by inserting after the last line of the bill the following:

    "Section 99. Effective date.  This Act takes effect upon 
24
becoming law.".
