| AN ACT concerning State government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Alcoholism and Other Drug Abuse and |
| 5 |
| Dependency Act is amended by adding Section 25-25 as follows:
|

| (20 ILCS 301/25-25 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 25-25. Grants to providers of services for |
| 8 |
| methamphetamine addicts and community outreach and education |
| 9 |
| programs. |
| 10 |
| (a) The Department of Human Services, from appropriations |
| 11 |
| made to it for this purpose, shall make grants on a countywide |
| 12 |
| or regional basis to licensed treatment programs for the |
| 13 |
| treatment of methamphetamine addicts and for programs to |
| 14 |
| prevent beginning use or continued use of methamphetamine. |
| 15 |
| (b) The Department of Human Services shall conduct |
| 16 |
| community outreach programs and educational programs to inform |
| 17 |
| the public of the dangers of methamphetamine use.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect on July |
| 19 |
| 1, 2005.
