SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
235 ILCS 5/6-8   from Ch. 43, par. 125

    Amends the Liquor Control Act of 1934. Allows distributors, importing distributors, and manufacturers and their representatives to be present during inspection of alcoholic liquors, accompanying invoices, bills of lading, and receiving tickets. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning liquor.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Liquor Control Act of 1934 is amended by
5 changing Section 6-8 as follows:
 
6     (235 ILCS 5/6-8)  (from Ch. 43, par. 125)
7     Sec. 6-8. Each manufacturer or importing distributor or
8 foreign importer shall keep an accurate record of all alcoholic
9 liquors manufactured, distributed, sold, used, or delivered by
10 him in this State during each month, showing therein to whom
11 sold, and shall furnish a copy thereof or a report thereon to
12 the State Commission, as the State Commission may, request.
13     Each importing distributor or manufacturer to whom
14 alcoholic liquors imported into this State have been consigned
15 shall effect possession and physical control thereof by storing
16 such alcoholic liquors in the premises wherein such importing
17 distributor or manufacturer is licensed to engage in such
18 business as an importing distributor or manufacturer and to
19 make such alcoholic liquors together with accompanying
20 invoices, bills of lading and receiving tickets available for
21 inspection by an agent or representative of the Department of
22 Revenue and of the State Commission. If the Department of
23 Revenue or the State Commission requests an inspection under
24 this Section, the distributor, importing distributor, or
25 manufacturer and its representatives shall have the right to be
26 present during the inspection.
27     All alcoholic liquor imported into this State must be
28 off-loaded from the common carrier, vehicle, or mode of
29 transportation by which the alcoholic liquor was delivered into
30 this State. The alcoholic liquor shall be stored at the
31 licensed premises of the importing distributor before sale and
32 delivery to licensees in this State. A distributor or importing

1 distributor, upon application to the Commission, may secure a
2 waiver of the provisions of this Section for purposes of
3 delivering beer directly to a licensee holding or otherwise
4 participating in a special event sponsored by a unit of
5 government or a not-for-profit organization.

7     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
