| AN ACT in relation to aging.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the |
| 5 |
| Medigap Premium
Reimbursement Act.
|
| 6 |
| Section 5. Reimbursement program. The Medigap Premium |
| 7 |
| Reimbursement
Program is established. Under the program, a |
| 8 |
| person who is 65 years of age or
older and
who purchases and |
| 9 |
| pays the premiums for a policy of Medicare supplemental
|
| 10 |
| ("Medigap") insurance that contains a prescription drug |
| 11 |
| benefit is entitled to
receive $25
per month from the State for |
| 12 |
| each month that he or she pays those premiums, as
a
|
| 13 |
| reimbursement of a part of the cost of the insurance coverage. |
| 14 |
| The Department
of Public
Aid shall administer the program and |
| 15 |
| shall adopt rules necessary to implement
the
program.
