    AN ACT concerning insurance.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended  by adding 
5
Section 355b as follows:

    (215 ILCS 5/355b  new)

    Sec. 355b. Rejection of applications for insurance. On and 
8
after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 94th 
9
General Assembly, each health insurer doing business in this 
10
State and rejecting an application for health insurance 
11
coverage shall provide a written explanation to the applicant 
12
detailing the reasons for the rejection.
