Amends the Public Community College Act. Provides that the board of trustees of the Chicago community college district shall require that each community college in the district employ one person as a coordinator and one person as a recruiter to assist inner-city minority students in transferring to public universities in this State. Subject to appropriation, requires the Illinois Community College Board to provide a grant to the district to fund these positions, which amount shall be equally divided among the community colleges. Effective July 1, 2006.

| AN ACT concerning education.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended by |
5 |
| adding Section 7-30 as follows: |

| (110 ILCS 805/7-30 new) |

| Sec. 7-30. Minority student transfer to university; |
8 |
| coordinator and recruiter. The board shall require that each |
9 |
| community college in the district employ one person as a |
10 |
| coordinator and one person as a recruiter to assist inner-city |
11 |
| minority students in transferring to public universities in |
12 |
| this State. Subject to appropriation, the State Board shall |
13 |
| provide a grant to the district to fund these positions, which |
14 |
| amount shall be equally divided among the community colleges.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, |
16 |
| 2006.
