| HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Public summer school programs ensure that |
| 3 |
| children who need extra help so they may make adequate progress |
| 4 |
| and keep from falling behind other students are able to receive |
| 5 |
| the needed services; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Public summer school programs provide enriching |
| 7 |
| educational opportunities for our children; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Public summer school programs help to ensure that |
| 9 |
| our schools are able to meet the strict guidelines set by the |
| 10 |
| No Child Left Behind Act of 2001; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, The need for public summer school program funding |
| 12 |
| is great; providing funding will prevent our communities' |
| 13 |
| schools from overextending their budgets as many will conduct |
| 14 |
| summer school programs out of necessity before State funding is |
| 15 |
| guaranteed; therefore, be it
|
| 16 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 17 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE |
| 18 |
| SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we strongly encourage the |
| 19 |
| General Assembly to fully fund public summer school programs |
| 20 |
| for the summer of 2005.
