| HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, November 5, 2006, marks six years since Ryan |
| 3 |
| Katcher, a student at the University of Illinois, was last |
| 4 |
| seen; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, In 2001, there were 198,575 persons over the age |
| 6 |
| of 18 reported missing to law enforcement agencies nationwide; |
| 7 |
| and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Regardless of age or circumstances, all missing |
| 9 |
| persons have families who need support and guidance to endure |
| 10 |
| the days, months, or years they may spend searching for their |
| 11 |
| missing loved ones; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, It is important to applaud the committed efforts |
| 13 |
| of families, law enforcement agencies, and concerned citizens |
| 14 |
| who work to locate missing persons and to prevent all forms of |
| 15 |
| victimization; therefore, be it
|
| 16 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 17 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE |
| 18 |
| SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that in recognition of the life of |
| 19 |
| Ryan Katcher and all other missing persons in the State of |
| 20 |
| Illinois, we declare November 5, 2006, as Missing Persons Day |
| 21 |
| in the State of Illinois; and be it further
|
| 22 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 23 |
| presented to Linda Katcher Griffith with our sincerest wishes |
| 24 |
| of support for her in the search for her son.
