| HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The Illinois Fire Service is experiencing |
| 3 |
| problems with self dispatching of equipment and personnel for |
| 4 |
| both State and national responses to emergency scenes without |
| 5 |
| formal approval by a coordinating authority; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Illinois Fire Service Caucus members have |
| 7 |
| requested an end to self dispatching because of its potential |
| 8 |
| to degrade continuity of operations and the critical |
| 9 |
| infrastructure protection of both the sending and receiving |
| 10 |
| jurisdictions; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Stopping self dispatching will reduce confusion |
| 12 |
| and risk at an emergency scene by reducing the need to commit |
| 13 |
| additional resources to the management of those
people and |
| 14 |
| equipment that self dispatched to the scene; therefore, be it
|
| 15 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 16 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE |
| 17 |
| SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we encourage the prohibition of |
| 18 |
| self dispatching by State and national response services; and |
| 19 |
| be it further
|
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 21 |
| presented to the Illinois Fire Service Caucus.
