| HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 93

| WHEREAS, The wine industry is vital to the health of both |
| 3 |
| Illinois agriculture and tourism; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, Several wineries in Jackson and Union Counties |
| 5 |
| have banded together as the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Portions of the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail traverse |
| 7 |
| Illinois 127 between Aldridge Road and Orchard Hills Road south |
| 8 |
| of Carbondale as well as various county highways in Alexander, |
| 9 |
| Johnson, Williamson, Jackson, and Union Counties; therefore, |
| 10 |
| be it
|
| 11 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 12 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE |
| 13 |
| SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that the aforementioned roads be |
| 14 |
| officially named the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail; and be it |
| 15 |
| further
|
| 16 |
| RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation, |
| 17 |
| Alexander County, Johnson County, Williamson County, Jackson |
| 18 |
| County, and Union County be directed to erect, at suitable |
| 19 |
| locations consistent with State and federal regulations, |
| 20 |
| appropriate signs along highways under their respective |
| 21 |
| jurisdictions giving notice of the trail; and be it further
|
| 22 |
| RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be |
| 23 |
| presented to the Shawnee Wine Trail organization, the Director |
| 24 |
| of Agriculture, the Director of Commerce and Economic |
| 25 |
| Opportunity, the counties of Alexander, Johnson, Williamson, |
| 26 |
| Jackson, and Union, and the Secretary of Transportation.
