| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |

| we urge the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to |
| 5 |
| complete a study on the effects of extending Daylight Savings |
| 6 |
| Time to the months when Illinois normally would observe Central |
| 7 |
| Standard Time; and be it further
|
| 8 |
| RESOLVED, That the study include, without limitation, the |
| 9 |
| effects of extending Daylight Savings Time on energy, |
| 10 |
| education, recreation, agriculture, economic development, |
| 11 |
| utilities, crime, mental health, business, finance, and the |
| 12 |
| general operation of State and local governments; and be it |
| 13 |
| further
|
| 14 |
| RESOLVED, That the Department submit a report of its |
| 15 |
| findings and recommendations to the General Assembly on or |
| 16 |
| before June 1, 2006; and be it further
|
| 17 |
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be delivered to |
| 18 |
| the Director of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
