| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois congratulate Eastern Illinois University's |
| 4 |
| (EIU) Cheer Team on their 8th place finish at the Universal |
| 5 |
| Cheerleaders Association Division I Championships in Orlando, |
| 6 |
| Florida, January 14-17, 2005; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, There were over 170 teams that began competition |
| 8 |
| in various divisions/categories and ten teams advanced to |
| 9 |
| Florida for the finals; this was EIU's first national |
| 10 |
| competition; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, EIU's Cheer Team is coached by Tom Leong, Beth |
| 12 |
| Frost, and Danielle Fox; Dr. Andrew M. White is their advisor; |
| 13 |
| and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, The 2005 EIU Cheer Team included Ryan Bell, Josh |
| 15 |
| Celvi, Andrew Coy, Christopher De Rosa, Lindsey Gehl, Shannon |
| 16 |
| Goering, Eric Kuncl, James McLauchlan, Emily McCrary, Jackie |
| 17 |
| Schif, Joe Sebright, Carly Shonk, Shauna Sutton, Dan Swanson, |
| 18 |
| Ashley Tomlinson, and Ashley Vandermoon; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Competitive cheerleading is a mixture of |
| 20 |
| enthusiasm, perfect coordination, and group solidarity; this |
| 21 |
| accomplishment is a testament to their hours of hard work and |
| 22 |
| dedication; and
|
| 23 |
| WHEREAS, The cheerleaders have developed a winning and |
| 24 |
| cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and |
| 25 |
| their activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the |
| 26 |
| individual cheerleaders and their coaches and bring honor to |
| 27 |
| EIU; therefore, be it
