| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The availability of current, updated information |
| 3 |
| regarding lobbyists registered in accordance with the Lobbyist |
| 4 |
| Registration Act (25 ILCS 170/) is vital to the members of the |
| 5 |
| General Assembly and the citizens of Illinois; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The most convenient means of accessing that |
| 7 |
| information is the Secretary of State's website, but the |
| 8 |
| Secretary presently updates that information only twice a year; |
| 9 |
| therefore, be it
|
| 10 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 11 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 12 |
| we urge the Secretary of State to more frequently update the |
| 13 |
| lobbyist registration list on the Secretary's website; and be |
| 14 |
| it further
|
| 15 |
| RESOLVED, That the Secretary is urged to include additional |
| 16 |
| accurate and timely information concerning lobbyists, |
| 17 |
| including without limitation e-mail addresses, on the |
| 18 |
| Secretary's website; and be it further
|
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, That the Secretary is urged to make responsible |
| 20 |
| and reasonable efforts to ensure that all lobbyist information |
| 21 |
| on the Secretary's website is accurate and up to date; and be |
| 22 |
| it further
|
| 23 |
| RESOLVED, That the Secretary is encouraged to make |
| 24 |
| recommendations to the General Assembly if legislative action |
| 25 |
| is deemed necessary; and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to |
| 27 |
| the Secretary of State.
