| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, It takes between $50 and $60 to get started with |
| 3 |
| I-PASS; I-PASS users pay a refundable security deposit for the |
| 4 |
| transponder; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Senior citizens are often on a fixed income; the |
| 6 |
| cost of setting up and maintaining an I-PASS account can be |
| 7 |
| cost-prohibitive for seniors; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, The benefits of I-PASS are also outweighed for |
| 9 |
| infrequent travelers on the toll roads; therefore, be it
|
| 10 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 11 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 12 |
| we urge the Governor to direct the Illinois State Toll Highway |
| 13 |
| Authority to offer less expensive I-PASS rates for seniors and |
| 14 |
| infrequent travelers; and be it further
|
| 15 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copies of this resolution be |
| 16 |
| delivered to the Governor and the Chairman of the Illinois |
| 17 |
| State Toll Highway Authority.
