| WHEREAS, Dr. Donald Kussmaul, Ed.D., was elected |
| 3 |
| president-elect of the 14,000-member American Association of |
| 4 |
| School Administrators (AASA) in 2003; he ran unopposed; he |
| 5 |
| began his term as president of AASA on July 1, 2004; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Kussmaul served as superintendent of the |
| 7 |
| 700-student East Dubuque School District from 1983 to 2004; |
| 8 |
| previously, he served as superintendent of the Tiskilwa School |
| 9 |
| District; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Kussmaul received his bachelor's and master's |
| 11 |
| degrees from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, and |
| 12 |
| his doctoral degree from Loyola University of Chicago; he has |
| 13 |
| been an educator for the past 37 years; he is currently the |
| 14 |
| District Consultant for the East Dubuque School District; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, He has served as secretary of the Illinois |
| 16 |
| Association of School Administrators for the past 8 years; he |
| 17 |
| is a member of the Horace Mann League and a board member for |
| 18 |
| the National Center for Education Research and Technology; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Kussmaul, who has been an AASA member for 25 |
| 20 |
| years, has held a variety of AASA leadership positions; he has |
| 21 |
| served as a member of the Executive Committee since 2000; he |
| 22 |
| also has served as chairman of AASA's Rural/Small Schools |
| 23 |
| Advisory Committee, as a member of the New Building Committee |
| 24 |
| and the Governance Design Team, and as Liaison to the |
| 25 |
| Technology, Suburban, and Audit Committees; he has been a |
| 26 |
| member of the Illinois Association of School Administrators |
| 27 |
| since 1977; and
|
| 28 |
| WHEREAS, AASA, founded in 1865, is the professional |
| 29 |
| organization for over 13,000 educational leaders across |
