| WHEREAS, The Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence |
| 3 |
| was founded in 1994 and is a publicly and privately-supported |
| 4 |
| not-for-profit organization; it was created to significantly |
| 5 |
| raise Illinois worldwide competitiveness by improving the |
| 6 |
| performance of its institutions and businesses; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, The Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence |
| 8 |
| has created an award patterned after the Malcolm Baldrige |
| 9 |
| National Quality Award; the award is an annual recognition of |
| 10 |
| Illinois organizations that have demonstrated exemplary |
| 11 |
| approach, deployment, and results in their overall quality |
| 12 |
| systems and processes; it is presented to organizations that |
| 13 |
| serve as role models for quality, customer satisfaction, and |
| 14 |
| performance excellence; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, The Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence |
| 16 |
| has awarded OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center, |
| 17 |
| located in Pontiac, the 2004 Lincoln Silver Award for Progress |
| 18 |
| Towards Excellence; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, In addition, eight other Illinois organizations |
| 20 |
| were recognized with the 2004 Lincoln Bronze Award for |
| 21 |
| Commitment to Excellence for their earnest efforts to adopt and |
| 22 |
| apply continuous improvement principles; these recipients |
| 23 |
| include Akzo Nobel Aerospace Coatings in Waukegan, Bison Gear & |
| 24 |
| Engineering Corp. in Saint Charles, Forest View Elementary |
| 25 |
| School in Mt. Prospect, MTM Recognition in Princeton, Mundelein |
| 26 |
| High School District 120 in Mundelein, Preco Electronics, Inc., |
| 27 |
| in Morton, Robert Frost Elementary School in Mt. Prospect, and |
| 28 |
| Salt Creek Elementary School in Elk Grove Village; and
|
| 29 |
| WHEREAS, Award recipients were formally honored at The |
| 30 |
| Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence Tenth Annual |

| Recognition Ceremony hosted by Michael J. Birck, Tellabs' |
