| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Kay Halterman of Ottawa has been styling hair and |
| 3 |
| has set an example for small business owners by providing |
| 4 |
| personal and friendly service to her patrons since 1944; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Halterman not only won a State hair-styling |
| 6 |
| competition in 1956, but she has won the hearts of many friends |
| 7 |
| in her salon over the last six decades; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, "Kay of Ottawa," as she is known, has loyal |
| 9 |
| patrons in their eighties who have been turning to Ms. |
| 10 |
| Halterman for nearly as long as the shop has been open because |
| 11 |
| of her unmatched skill in cutting, rolling, setting, and |
| 12 |
| styling hair; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Although Ms. Halterman has been known throughout |
| 14 |
| the State because of her involvement with hairdressing and |
| 15 |
| cosmetology associations, she has remained committed to her |
| 16 |
| hometown; therefore, be it
|
| 17 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 18 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 19 |
| we honor Kay Halterman of Ottawa for being a successful |
| 20 |
| businesswoman and dedicated community member who has set many |
| 21 |
| good examples in her 61 years of service to her patrons; and be |
| 22 |
| it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 24 |
| presented to Ms. Halterman as an expression of our deep respect |
| 25 |
| and esteem.
