HOUSE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, Judge William Joseph Aukstik will retire from the 
3
bench after serving as a judge in the Circuit Court of Cook 
4
County for 15 years; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Judge Aukstik was born to William and Stella 
6
Aukstik on August 12, 1946, grew up in the Bridgeport 
7
neighborhood of Chicago, and attended De La Salle High School, 
8
Loyola University, and DePaul Law School; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, He passed the Illinois Bar Exam in 1974, practiced 
10
law for over 15 years, and was appointed a judge and sworn in 
11
on February 1, 1991; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Judge Aukstik worked in the 5th District Court 
13
House in Bridgeview for 13 years and established himself as a 
14
fair, honest, and hardworking judge; while at the 5th District 
15
Court House, Judge Aukstik made many close friendships and 
16
allies; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, In addition to serving on the bench, he was 
18
President of the De La Salle Alumni Association, De La Salle 
19
Board of Directors, and is currently the Chairman of the Board 
20
of Directors at De La Salle High School; he also sits on the 
21
Catholic Lawyer's Guild Board of Directors and has been a 
22
member of the Illinois Bar Association since 1974; and

 
23
    WHEREAS, Judge Aukstik has been married to his loving and 
24
beautiful wife, Mary Jo, for 35 years; and

 
25
    WHEREAS, He and Mary Jo are the proud parents of four 
26
beautiful daughters, Nicole, Danielle, Kristin, and Michelle 
27
and proud grandparents of two amazing granddaughters, Emily 
28
Rose and Audrey Nicole, who have brought their Nana and Papa 
29
great joy and adoration; and

    WHEREAS, Judge Aukstik has taught his family the invaluable 
2
lessons of being loyal and providing for and supporting family 
3
in times of need and otherwise; he has instilled in each one of 
4
his daughters a remarkable education and work ethic and has 
5
proved to be an outstanding Papa to his two granddaughters; 
6
therefore, be it

 
7
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
8
NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
9
we congratulate Judge William J. Aukstik on his retirement and 
10
extend our sincere thanks for serving as a Circuit Court Judge 
11
for 15 years in Cook County and wish him great success in his 
12
future endeavors; and be it further

 
13
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14
presented to Judge William J. Aukstik as an expression of our 
15
admiration and esteem.
