| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to recognize milestone events for |
| 4 |
| cities in the State; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, A celebration in honor of the 80th anniversary of |
| 6 |
| the City of Markham will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2005; |
| 7 |
| the theme will be "United We Stand"; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, A parade will be held that day in honor of the |
| 9 |
| City's men and women in uniform, including military, police |
| 10 |
| officers, fire fighters, 911 operators, EMTs, doctors, nurses, |
| 11 |
| hospital staff, emergency room staff, the VFW, the American |
| 12 |
| Legion, Amvets, ROTC Units, as well as POWs and MIAs and the |
| 13 |
| brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our |
| 14 |
| country; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Markham is located in Cook County; it has a |
| 16 |
| population of 12,620; David Webb is the mayor of Markham; the |
| 17 |
| parade coordinator is Col. Art Neeley; therefore, be it
|
| 18 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 19 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 20 |
| we congratulate the City of Markham on the occasion of its 80th |
| 21 |
| anniversary celebration and parade, "United We Stand", on |
| 22 |
| August 20, 2005; and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 24 |
| presented to the City of Markham as an expression of our |
| 25 |
| respect and esteem and with best wishes for the City's next 80 |
| 26 |
| years.
