| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Dr. Gael K. Kent of Bradley was recently named the |
| 3 |
| Illinois Administrator of the Year 2004-05 by the Illinois |
| 4 |
| Association of Educational Office Professionals; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He began his career in education in 1970 in Troy; |
| 6 |
| throughout the years, he has taught, coached, served as |
| 7 |
| athletic director, and been a principal, administrator, |
| 8 |
| administrative assistant/business manager, and superintendent; |
| 9 |
| he is currently the superintendent of Bradley School District |
| 10 |
| No. 61; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, He served his country as a member of the United |
| 12 |
| States Air Force and the Illinois Air National Guard during the |
| 13 |
| 1970s; he holds several degrees, including a Bachelor of Arts, |
| 14 |
| Master of Science, and a Doctor of Education degree; in |
| 15 |
| addition, he has a Certificate of Advanced Study; his Illinois |
| 16 |
| certifications include Chief School Business Official, |
| 17 |
| Superintendent, General Administrative, and Elementary |
| 18 |
| Teaching; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Kent is a published author and member of |
| 20 |
| numerous professional committees; he has served in leadership |
| 21 |
| positions in many professional organizations and is active in |
| 22 |
| many community organizations as well; he was the recipient of |
| 23 |
| the Bixby Award given by the Bradley-Bourbonnais Chamber of |
| 24 |
| Commerce in 2003 and 2004; he received the American Cancer |
| 25 |
| Society Illinois Division's Railsplitter Award for 110% of goal |
| 26 |
| and a Unit Leadership Citation in 1992; and
|
| 27 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Kent is a native of Kankakee and is married to |
| 28 |
| Liana; he is the father of two adult sons, Dave and Chad; |
| 29 |
