| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to recognize citizens who have |
| 4 |
| made outstanding contributions to their community; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, For the past 37 years, John Clayton has been |
| 6 |
| assisting the Masonic Lodge with training activities; he is an |
| 7 |
| honorary member of 32 Lodges, and his first honorary membership |
| 8 |
| was in Highland; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, During his tenure with the Masonic Lodge, Mr. |
| 10 |
| Clayton has held several positions, including Grand Lecturer |
| 11 |
| (1978), Grand Lecturer Instructor (1990-1993), and Grand |
| 12 |
| Representative to South Wales and Australia (1990-1995); and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Clayton valiantly served his country as a |
| 14 |
| member of the U.S. Navy; he served on the U.S.S. Idaho in the |
| 15 |
| South Pacific and earned five battle stars; therefore, be it
|
| 16 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 17 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 18 |
| we honor R.W. Bro. John Clayton for his many years of volunteer |
| 19 |
| service with the Masonic Lodge; and be it further
|
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 21 |
| presented to Mr. Clayton as an expression of our respect and |
| 22 |
| esteem.
