| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Executive Order 3 of 2005 proposes to reorganize |
| 3 |
| agencies by the transfer of certain functions to the renamed |
| 4 |
| Department of Healthcare and Family Services; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Executive Order 3 of 2005 was delivered to the |
| 6 |
| General Assembly on April 1, 2005; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Section 11 of Article V of the Illinois |
| 8 |
| Constitution provides that if the General Assembly is in annual |
| 9 |
| session and an Executive Order proposing agency reorganization |
| 10 |
| is delivered on or before April 1, then the Executive Order |
| 11 |
| shall be considered by the General Assembly at that annual |
| 12 |
| session; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Section 11 of Article V of the Illinois |
| 14 |
| Constitution also provides that an Executive Order shall not |
| 15 |
| become effective if, within 60 calendar days after its delivery |
| 16 |
| to the General Assembly, either house disapproves the Executive |
| 17 |
| Order by a record vote of a majority of members elected; |
| 18 |
| therefore, be it
|
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 20 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 21 |
| the House of Representatives disapproves Executive Order 3 of |
| 22 |
| 2005 in whole; and be it further
|
| 23 |
| RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be delivered to |
| 24 |
| the Governor of the State of Illinois, the Secretary of State, |
| 25 |
| and the President of the Senate.
